Garlic Creek Lift Station

City of Buda, Buda, Texas

The Garlic Creek Lift Station Replacement project consisted of the replacement of an existing lift station which is located within the 100-year floodplain and has been subject to past flooding events. The new lift station is located outside of the 100-year floodplain and is sized for build-out flows from the Garlic Creek Sewershed (the City is one of the fastest growing in Texas). The new Garlic Creek Lift Station is rated for 6.2 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) and consists of a 14’ x 17’ x 24.5’ deep cast-in-place wet well, cast-in-place valve vault, four submersible solids-handling wastewater pumps, check valves, isolation valves, pump controls, and appurtenances. The lift station site includes a jib crane, flow meter, emergency generator, SCADA, odor control system, and other miscellaneous improvements. The project also included approximately 245 GLF of 16” ductile iron and 20” diameter High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) sanitary sewer force main; approximately 420 LF of 10” PVC through 36” Centrifugally-Cast Fiberglass-Reinforced Polymer Mortar Pipe sanitary sewer gravity main and associated manholes; and demolition of the existing lift station.

GarzaEMC was responsible for the site grading, traffic control plans, demolition of the existing lift station, specifications and cost estimates. Design of the project was completed within an extremely compressed schedule of four weeks to meet the City’s desired bidding schedule.
