Mission Tejas State Park

As part of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail Program, a new Visitors Center was added to the park which provides the park adequate resources for the public to view the road remnants. The new 3-structure facility houses the new headquarters, an exhibit hall, a gift shop and a public bathroom area for visitors. The interactive exhibit hall l features artifacts, visual elements like photographs and illustrations, and interactive, touchable components. Site elements included sidewalks, rainwater collection cisterns, water service and septic system design. In addition, the project included coordination with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), who designed and constructed the entry road and parking lot improvements. The Visitor Center Replacement project sidewalk improvements connect to the parking lot at two locations.
GarzaEMC provided full civil engineering services, including grading, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control, and utility design.
