Clayton Tank Replacement

San Antonio Water System (SAWS), San Antonio, Texas

The Somerset Pumping Station project included the construction of a new 1.5-million-gallon ground storage tank (GST), a pressure reducing valve station, an on-site tank overflow drainage system, a new chlorine disinfection building and upgrades, SCADA improvements, electrical upgrades, site security enhancements, a public water dispenser, and yard piping. Site and facility improvements also involved the demolition of a 300,000-gallon GST and a metal building, along with site drainage, grading, and lighting. The project was carefully phased to ensure the site remained operational throughout construction.

The Clayton Elevated Tank Facility project entailed the demolition of a 100,000-gallon EST and associated structures, removal of all below-grade piping, plugging of four groundwater wells, and site grading.

GarzaEMC performed improvements for the existing SAWS DSP Somerset Pumping Station and the demolition of the off-site Clayton Elevated Storage Tank (EST) along with associated infrastructure.
