Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas
The STAR One expansion project was a 16,000 SF building addition to the existing STAR One building for research and commercialization efforts. Expansion of the 36,000 GSF facility occupies a 38-acre tract of land and incorporates state-of-the-art laboratories, multi-purpose meeting space, open office and support space, and collaboration space. The existing facility includes office space, conference room, clean space and wet labs while the expansion provides additional office and lab space, conference rooms, and a multi-purpose room.
GarzaEMC provided full civil engineering services. Site work included expanding the existing parking lot, adding sidewalks, grading, and utility connections. In addition, a drainage study and associated modifications to the existing detention pond will be completed to address the increase in runoff from the proposed improvements.
